Welcome to Texas Pawprints

Based in Dallas, Texas Pawprints was founded in 2001 by volunteers from other established local rescue groups. We wanted to rescue and rehome as many animals as possible - including cats and kittens other groups chose not to accept. These are often referred to as “special needs” kitties, and first to be euthanized by city shelters.

For example, we’re currently working to find forever homes for:

- FIV-positive cats (to learn more about FIV, click here)

- Black cats and kittens (click here to find out why black cats are good luck)

  1. -Older cats

We do not have a shelter. Almost all of our rescues are cared for in foster volunteers’ homes. This limits the number of animals we can rescue, and is also the reason why we’re always looking for new volunteers. Contact us via email at hairball@texaspawprints.org to learn more about our volunteer opportunities.
